This section of the ADPRIMA site gives classroom management ideas, contains information on lesson planning and how to write behavioral objectives, and offers descriptions of the advantages and disadvantages of different instructional methods. The descriptions are written especially for new teachers, beginning teachers, and teacher education students in an easy-to-understand style.

This Canadian based, non-commercial Web site offers many ideas for preventing disciplinary problems and how to better organize a classroom. There are 8 lists that include the following information: ways to encourage good behavior, reward ideas, creating a seating plan, seat work, themes, school/class pledges, fundraising and bulletin board ideas.

Honor Level System

The Honor Level System refers users to a discipline program on software that tracks students through progressive stages of disciplinary action and notifies them of detention assignment. The Web site gives an introduction of the Honor Level System and has other online documents that can assist teachers, administrators, and parents in understanding discipline and in gathering more discipline strategies. Users can find articles about better classroom discipline techniques, four stages of discipline, and four steps for better discipline.

The Kentucky Department of Education provides school personnel, parents, and other professionals with information concerning behavior problems by children and youth in schools. The Web site contains interactive features such as discussion forums, Web quest exercises, and a message board. "Intervention Central" offers suggested free tools and resources to help school staff and parents promote positive classroom behaviors and foster effective learning for all children and youth.
Behavior, Motivation, and Self-Control

This Web site includes a chapter of the book published by Mental Health Net entitled Psychological Self-Help by Clayton E. Tucker-Ladd. The chapter explains learning, motivation, problem behaviors, reasons why behaviors are hard to understand, methods for handling certain disorders such as ADD/ADHD or speech problems, and how to manage behaviors.
The You Can Handle Them All Web Site

This web site is a resource that helps teachers, administrators, and parents handle discipline problems. Find an overview of behavioral management and its foundations, a discussion room, and solutions for handling 117 misbehaviors. The solutions contain a description for a particular behavior, its effects, actions, mistakes, and related behaviors. The content is well written and can be very useful.
Whole Class Self Monitoring

This Web site is based from an article that appeared in the "From Now On" journal. Appropriate for K-12, these strategies described were developed and tested by teachers in Princeton, Madison and elsewhere. These useful, successful activities help shift the management of a classroom from a teacher-centered to a student-centered environment. This publication for pre-service and secondary education teachers exists as a series of World Wide Web documents. Volume 1, Issue 2 is devoted to classroom management. Articles include topics on beginning teachers, different management styles, a book review, a classroom management profile exercise, and ideas on units and lessons.
